Nicole Randhawa,
Registered Physiotherapist
MScPT, BSc(hons), DipACLM
My name is Nicole Randhawa (she/her), and am grateful to work on the traditional and unceded ancestral territories of the lÉ™k̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples here in Victoria. I am a registered physiotherapist with the College of Physical Therapists of B.C., with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology (hons) from the University of Victoria.
Early in my career I became passionate about pelvic health, and since then I have been on a mission to improve awareness and education in this area. My personal experiences have added to my dedication to providing quality care, and an understanding of what it feels like to have to advocate for your health, be vulnerable with a provider, along with some of the trials and tribulations of fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum.
Having completed extensive post-graduate education in pelvic health and working with hundreds of patients over the years, I believe it is important to build an effective client-provider relationship through trust, comfort, and communication, with an ultimate goal of creating an appropriate, evidence-based plan to address your needs.
My aim is to help you to move comfortably through this new phase of life, by providing support with:
-
Preparing for birth and rehabilitation postpartum - including topics such as: pushing strategies, positions, tearing, common pelvic floor postpartum concerns, what to do if you have a C-section, there’s lots to cover here!
-
Pelvic floor and core health
-
Support and education for exercise during pregnancy
-
Low back and pelvic girdle pain
-
Urinary and/or fecal incontinence
-
Constipation
-
Returning to exercise postpartum, including weightlifting and running
-
Pain with intercourse
-
Vaginal heaviness/pressure
-
Diastasis recti abdominis
When I’m not supporting clients you’ll find me:
-
Chasing around my toddler
-
Eating - I love local restaurants, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and I’m a natural wine lover
-
Moving - going on walks with a podcast and my pup Winnie, lifting heavy things, or swimming
Atisa S Rashidi
Registered and Licensed Acupuncturist
Hello folks! My name is Atisa S. Rashidi, R.Ac; I'm a licensed acupuncturist and graduate of Pacific Rim College's Acupuncture Diploma program, and I am grateful to be living and working on the unceded traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən people. As an acupuncturist, I help support clients in their birth journey with the healing wisdom of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine while centering an inclusive clinic experience for patients. Acupuncture and moxibustion therapies can help you build your inner resources as you anticipate your journey into parenthood.
Outside of my days in the clinic, I enjoy walks with my dog, getting out wildcrafting plant medicines, foraging for edible mushrooms in the fall, and enjoying time outside in rivers, open fields, and beaches in the summer! I am finishing my studies at Pacific Rim College in the Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine program, and continue to deepen my clinical understanding of this beautiful medicine.
It would be a great pleasure to work with you on your wellness concerns and goals through your pregnancy journey.
